President Yoweri Museveni has advised farmers in northern Uganda to find ways of adapting to the changing rainfall patterns to reduce cases of food shortage in their homes.
Speaking recently at Bobi Polytechnic School in Bobi Sub County, Omoro District, Museveni said there were cheap irrigation methods that farmers could use to produce food even during dry spells.
“You can for example use small water bottles to drip water on the plants. This is a sustainable method of irrigation that you can use before the government comes in with other methods of irrigation,” Museven said.
Museveni said every home must have enough food and should also be able to generate income.
